Painting in Vermont Circa 1965

Not everything was done in his studio! And in Vermont, there was a painting to be found around almost every bend in the road.

National Arts Club Exhibition, March 1982

I found this hand-written note from my father about his 1982 exhibition at the Gregg Galleries in the National Arts Club at 15 Gramercy Park in New York City. Many of Dad's fellow artists, collectors, friends and family attended. We found a few pictures from the exhibition and are happy to share them... (I'll identify his fellow artists where I can!)

Chen Chi and Dad, (Michael Engel), share a laugh.

Domenico Facci makes a point to my father (back to the camera).

Ray Kinstler throws a fellow-artist arm over my father's shoulder.

My grandmother Mary Black Diller Engel talks to fellow artist Domenico Facci

NYC1: (New York City 1 by Michael M Engel II)

NYC1 was one of my father's favorite paintings. From the Queens side of the East River, in Long Island City, he made numerous sketches of midtown Manhattan and then returned to his studio to complete NYC1. The Citicorp building is the most easily recognizable landmark.
